Jamie Durie Awarded Medal of the Order of Australia

On Australia Day 2012 the Governor General honoured celebrity landscape designer and horticulturalist Jamie Durie with the award of the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division.

The Order of Australia is the preeminent means by which Australia as a nation recognises the outstanding and meritorious service of its citizens. The citation for this honour is – ‘For service to the community as an ambassador and supporter of a range of charitable and environmental organisations, and as a landscape designer’.

‘I am an eternally proud Australian but especially today. To receive an honour from the country I cherish is humbling to say the least. I’m pinching myself! I feel elated, excited and incredibly grateful. I loved growing up in Australia and I always look forward to coming home when I’ve been away. An acclaimed musician, actress, author, and television personality, Mel is also an accomplished host having just co-hosted with P Diddy in NYC for the Total Escape to Total Awards.

2012 will see Mel B relocate her family from LA to Sydney and bring her talent to Australian TV with her role as judge on X-factor for a second season and as co-host on Dancing with the Stars.

We are pleased to announce Jodi Gordon has signed with 22 Management.
Jodi’s career started at the age of 13 after winning a modelling competition, landing her a contract from one of Australia’s most respected and renowned modelling agencies, Vivien’s. This led her overseas where she secured work in editorial, advertorial & commercial campaigns in both Europe and Asia.

In 2004 Jodi returned to Australia and successfully auditioned for the role of Martha Mackenzie in the popular programme Home & Away where she spent 4 years and became a household name. For her portrayal of Martha Jodi was awarded with a TV Week Logie for ‘Most Popular New Female Talent’ in 2006 and was nominated for ‘Most Popular Actress’ in 2009.

2011 sees the most exciting period of Jodi’s acting career to date with two films The Cup and 25 set for release while also appearing in the top rating miniseries ‘Blood Brothers’ which aired on Channel Nine.

Sam will step out from behind the news desk and take to the dance floor in series 11 of the top rating show. Sam has chosen Ronald McDonald House as her charity having been involved with them for some time she is excited to raise further awareness.

Sam is the co-host of Channel Sevens hugely popular Weekend Sunrise as well as presenting the 4.30pm News Bulletin. Sam can also be seen filling in on other News and Current affairs shows including Today Tonight Summer Series.

We are pleased to announce Tom Steinfort has signed with 22 Management.

Tom is an award-winning journalist signed to Channel Nine appearing on A Current Affair as well as other various news programs.

Over the last few years, he’s reported from across the globe on the world’s biggest stories – the death of Michael Jackson in Los Angeles, the earthquake/tsunami disaster in Japan, and the soccer World Cup in South Africa. When Rosso left his award-winning, ratings-smashing, hugely popular breakfast radio show at the end of 2009, we all wondered what he would do next. The answer? He wrote a book!

And the end result is a very funny book telling all sorts of tales. There are warm, fuzzy childhood stories growing up in suburban Melbourne with billycarts and milkbars, indoor sports , first driving experiences and the family moving to Fiji for 6 months; teenage stories of girls, fires in dad’s workshop, mandarin liqueur, and the awkward years of bad clothes and bad hair that were the 80s; student tales of share-house madness (and how to get rid of mice!), being in a pub rock band, mates, more cars and Uni coming off second best.

And then there’s the moment when his stand-up comedy career took off, and how it led to him entertaining the nation on TV and radio. Stories from the early days working with Merrick, the rock stars and celebrities he met (and sometimes offended!): being patted like a Labrador by John Travolta, fighting about the definition of ‘chick flick’ with Cameron Diaz; the enthusiastic Sylvester Stallone; pub crawling with Bryan Brown; swearing at a former Vice President of the United States; and THAT orange Mambo shirt worn by David Bowie . . .
