Lottie Rae is a contemporary Australian artist and creative entrepreneur from Trangie, in outback New South Wales. Raised on her family’s farm, Lottie’s work is deeply rooted in country resilience, storytelling and community - blending nostalgic Australian iconography with bold, modern energy.
Before becoming a full-time artist, Lottie built and scaled a successful multi-site café, fashion and homewares business in her regional hometown. After navigating severe drought and the challenges of COVID, she pivoted online, sharpening the entrepreneurial instincts that would later fuel her art career.
In 2023, she sold her business and took a calculated risk on herself - converting a shipping container into a home studio and committing one year to make painting her full-time pursuit. The turning point came with a portrait of bushranger Captain Thunderbolt, which gained rapid traction online and established her signature style: character-driven works that fuse Australian folklore with contemporary cultural references.
Since launching her art career, Lottie has sold works internationally - including to Gigi and Bella Hadid, appeared on The Today Show, and hosted multiple sold-out solo exhibitions. She has collaborated with major brands including Levi’s, where her limited-edition custom jacket sold out in under two minutes.
In 2025, Lottie appeared on the inaugural season of Portrait Artist of the Year Australia (ABC), winning her heat with a portrait of Ken Done. She was later selected to compete on Season 11 of Australian Survivor, airing February 23, 2026.
With over 80,000 Instagram followers and a rapidly expanding national profile, Lottie Rae represents a new wave of regional Australian creatives - bold, commercially savvy and unapologetically authentic.
